Tom Paxton is an icon of folk music. He has been writing songs, recording albums, and performing since the early 60’s. He writes beautiful songs, with humor and social conscience, and most Americans know at least a few of his many songs.
Tom turns 80 on October 31, 2017.
Please join us in celebrating his birthday by singing his music. We’ll be singing “Bottle of Wine”, “Ramblin’ Boy”, “The Last Thing on My Mind”, “The Marvelous Toy” and many more great songs, and would love to have you singing along, playing along, or contributing your own performances.
Join us November 4 from 7:00 – 9:30 PM to celebrate Tom!

Focus group MA in Motion interactive session designed for seniors and caregivers and open to ALL

On 10/3/17Tuesday, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m., Steve Winslow, Senior Project Manager for the City of Gloucester, seeks community input on ways our City and Cape Ann can reach goals of Mass in Motion – including increasing rates of physical activity of all types and consumption of healthier foods.  Those goals will be achieved through efforts to create more accessible and enjoyable options for physical activity, especially walking and bicycling, and increase access to and appreciation of healthy and affordable foods, including locally or regionally harvested foods. Please read more about MA in Motion on the City of Gloucester website.

The focus group session will be from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.  From 7-7:30, Ward 4 City Councilor, Val Gilman, will host a casual Q and A on city and local matters including a continuation of our MA in Motion discussion. Cider and cookies will be served.  Thanks to the Lanesville Community Center 8 Vulcan Street, for hosting this forum.
